Are you a highly sensitive creative entrepreneur? Are you a highly sensitive creative entrepreneur? 

A writer, therapist, coach, healer, artist, (fill in the blank x 1000)? 

All you have to do as a Highly Sensitive Person in a profession that demands a little spotlight is: 

1.) Show up consistently. (Even if that’s once a week.) 

2.) Be entirely yourself. 

3.) Find a formula that feels good, and stick to it, no matter what hoops “the algorithm” demands of you. 

4.) Avoid getting pulled into the frenzy. Use your nervous system as your guide. If it costs you your peace, you can’t afford it. 

5.) It’s perfectly okay to show up less frequently, (but more authentically!) than the “norm”. 

6.) Let your quirky beautiful self shine! 🤩 Enter through the doorway of your own excitement, inspiration, and fun. 

7.) If there’s something you absolutely loathe to do, assess how you could possibly delegate that to somebody who finds it effortless. 

Nothing more is required of you! 

Just stay true to you. That’s how you’ll build a sustainable presence. 🙏

On any given day I tell myself… stay quiet, stay On any given day I tell myself… stay quiet, stay safe but not too safe to lock courageous out. Stay humble, stay open – wide open – and yet impermeable to harm, with established boundaries. 

Know stillness as much as movement, but be comfortable with both. 

Disappear into the expanse of the universe or the opposite, into the cave of hibernation, equally informative. Anchor. Feel my feet on the earth, even if it’s through the crunch of snow beneath my boots. 

Stay small, hidden, comfortable…or big and bold and vulnerable ~ whatever my soul asks for from day to day, or hour to hour, or sometimes minute to minute. 

Be okay with change. 

I tell myself, “Challenge yourself. Rest yourself. Accept guidance, be the guidance, honor and be honored.” 

Every day, all of it, this journey of consciousness.

You know what? There is nothing magical about these formulas. Your nervous system is capable of unfathomable intuitive gifts. What a clearing or protecting practice like this does is it heightens and focuses your awareness. It gives your brain a very specific directive. 

“Dear Brain, Please clean, clear, and protect my energy system.” 

That’s 100% it. 

Clearing and protecting your energy field comes with your human factory settings. ☺️ Don’t ever think that psychic protection requires an upsell. 

With consistency and commitment, with raised intention & awareness, before you know it your energy system, assisted by your brain, will become so adept at keeping you in energetic integrity (not carrying around the emotions and energies of others) that it will begin a self-cleaning mechanism. Which means eventually you won’t even need to give the orders any more. (But I recommend always staying intentional.)

Ya, it can hurt. 

As a Cancer Sun, Cancer Ascending, Enneagram 4, INFP…I know that sometimes navigating life feels like a soft-shelled crab in a world full of hammers. 

But I wouldn’t change it for anything. Because the intuition, the empathy, the ecstasy, the magic, the enchantment, the creativity, the innovation, the vision, the connection with Nature…they all enter through the doorway of High Sensitivity. 

When we learn to stop numbing, and start living with resilience…a whole new world opens. 

One of the first steps to resilience is a daily energy clearing practice. There are countless ways to clear your energy field, and this one is my favorite. I learned this when I was five years old (I taught myself, through a dream teaching), and it’s like breathing for me now.

4.) Try to refrain from building stories around yo 4.) Try to refrain from building stories around your emotions. Emotions just are. We all feel them. If you start to attach to your emotions through your self-told stories, like, “I’m just an unsatisfied person and always will be” then you essentially adopt unsatisfied as a facet of your identity. You start to build a foundation made of it. 
Nobody is any one thing without ignoring a thousand other emotions also in the mix. We can’t emoji-fy our life. We are much more complicated than a frowny face.   

5.) Accept that no emotion is good or bad. They all build on one another, they’re a team. There is nothing wrong with sadness and nobody needs to be in a state of elation every minute of the day. The ephemeral nature of emotion is its very power.

And remember…

It’s perfectly okay to lose control every now and then. Living with your nervous system as a Highly Sensitive Person can feel like riding a tidal wave at times. The goal isn’t to surf that leviathan with perfect control and grace. No, the goal is to intentionally look for the small victories and continually build on that awareness. The goal is emotional regulation.

When is the last time you forced yourself to be so When is the last time you forced yourself to be something you weren’t—just to fit in? 

The health of your nervous system depends on you to stay true to yourself, unapologetically feel what you happen to be feeling, set your own limits, and navigate your life according to your own dreams and instincts. 

The most epic transformation I ever made was the journey it took to just be myself. Honestly, it’s wild to admit that it took me 39 years to even realize I had become a stranger to myself. My authenticity required changing my whole life. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. 

But it was so worth the effort. Fifteen years later, I wouldn’t change a minute of it. 🙏
