“Come to the edge”, he said.
“We’re afraid”, they said.
“Come to the edge”, he said.
They came.
He pushed them… and they flew.
~ Guillaume Apollinaire
What is your Edge right now? What are you coming up against, being asked to overcome? Is it reconciling old conflicts? Battling money consciousness again? Feeling constant aggravation with your work?
Push your limits.
Going “over the edge” is not always a bad thing.
On the other side of chronic issues lies the freedom, expansion, growth, and insight which very well may be your ticket to moving on. Finding your way to higher ground requires evaluating the very things you spend too much energy trying to avoid. Maybe the avoidance looks like numbing out in front of the T.V., dissociating every time you think about reaching your dreams, or letting emotional dysregulation sabotage your every move.
Sit with the emotion of frustration or fear without repressing it. Immerse yourself in the feeling of it.
Now feel what happens in your body? What is it saying? Do your shoulders suddenly feel heavy? Does your energy feel suffocated? Did your stomach tie in a knot?
What does come to the edge mean to you?
Unless we acknowledge the somatic message in the painful pattern, there can be no psychological release. Put your hand where your body hurts, where the energy feels stagnant. Send yourself love. Say the words out loud, “Sometimes I feel afraid” or whatever it is that you’re feeling. Use an emotions word list if you have to.
There’s no bypassing the lesson or the teaching when it’s coming straight from your own body, your own heart and spirit. You can’t hide from it or avoid it. It will follow you like a lost dog.
Facing the feelings might hurt a little, or a great deal, but in its wisdom you’ll find the key to your freedom; you’ll find your wings in your own feelings.
Much Love,
Kristy
