If there is one trait that I identify with as a super power, it’s my intuition.
It is my soul’s mission to connect others to their own intuitive expansion. That’s what transformation means to me…a return to our whole true self.
Humankind has been suppressing its own divine feminine, the source of intuition, for thousands of years. A return to our whole true self means connecting to those aspects of us we hide and keep caged, because many cultures tell us, as women, the non-heteronomative (an inherently flawed term, because there is no “normal”), and the gender-nonbinary how flawed we are. Science has proven that we carry our history in our nervous system, like a man-made chip implanted within our brains (and I use “man-made” intentionally here). This neuro-programming tells us that to talk about perfectly natural things, like intuition and channeling higher wisdom, may very well get us killed. We remember our ancestral fear.
That was the old and very real story we have not yet healed from.
Today, we’re less likely to be killed and more likely to be scoffed at, or disregarded, or not taken seriously. (Which absolutely can cause spiritual injury to the Highly Sensitive.) The only “safe” discussion of intuition seems to be in harnessing it for science, professional growth, or artistic inspiration…in other words, the only true function of intuition has to be connected to a masculine ideal of productivity, consumerism, or capitalism. If Steve Jobs or Albert Einstein say they occasionally channeled information, well, that’s cool.
But throughout history, if a woman dare say such a thing, she’s generally been labeled a nut. (And completely omitted from the history books, intuition or not.)
Or, we move to the opposite end of the spectrum and indulge the Hollywood version of intuition, inflating it into something it rarely is– consuming the crystal ball standard, demanding the trajectory of our lives be delivered with shocking accuracy in our attempt to control the future with precognitive prediction. Control and order are also traits of the masculine logos. The divine feminine spirit is formless, all pervasive, and is not generally agreeable to demands. It’s not about “predictions”, it’s about glorious chaos.
This has nothing to do with being a Man or a Woman, or feeling a connection to both or neither.
Every human being has within them an instinct for logos and eros, both. It is the rare human that possesses a perfect partnership of the two, and in my opinion it never comes without some kind of massive transformational process that heals the ancient rift. More often therein lies a tremendous internal battle where we witness day after day our own critical voices mercilessly shouting the demands of both, “You’re lazy! You’re controlling! I demand order! I need freedom from your tyranny!”
We silently express the world’s story, and do so internally.
The sacred masculine and sacred feminine, and their toxic expressions both, live inside all of us.
It’s the toxic versions that have allowed us to harm ourselves and harm our planet for hundreds of years. We can’t have a constant torrent of consumption and progress at the expense of our environment, at the expense of our own souls. Doing, doing, doing (masculine)…without being in awareness (feminine), is not sustainable.
The biggest gift we can give Mother Earth is to heal the toxic feminine and the toxic masculine inside of us, restoring the perfect union between the divine expressions of each, logic and love. Somewhere in history the truth of who we are, as authentic humans, was torn in two and we were born into one of two highly simplified camps. One camp was labeled superior. And the rest of us have been beaten into submission for the last few thousand years.
My intuition tells me the global balance is righting itself at this moment in our history. It’s chaotic, and deadly, and heartbreaking, and also loving, joy-filled, and promising. Ready or not, it’s happening.
We have to choose to reconcile our inner conflict before we can hope to assist the outer one. “Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.” That is the greatest gift we can give the earth right now, the greatest gift we can give each other. That’s how we transform the toxicity into the divine. We have to clean the cobwebs out of our very souls and be more truthful than we’ve ever had the courage to do in the past. We start by asking ourselves a few questions:
- Where are we perpetuating the internal war?
- How are we being ruthless to ourselves?
- Where are we not being true to ourselves?
- Why are our words and our actions incongruent?
This untangling of our inner knots is probably the most powerful intuitive journey we could ever hope to embark upon.
And it’s likely the most difficult too. But intuition does not flow through old paradigm garbage (“Man” is superior to Nature? No. Absolutely no.) and we can’t hear it through the noise of our own inner conflicts.
If you’re one of the millions who desperately wants to cultivate a deeper connection with Nature, who wants to feel the euphoric flow of cosmic intuition, and seeks your own divine purpose with the fervor of a jungle explorer (complete with mosquito net and pith helmet), then this is the place to begin. You might not feel it’s all that sexy (spells and incantations may feel much more exciting), but I can tell you– THIS starting point is life and world-changing.
And its power lies right there within your own heart.
We can do this. We can create a new reality. We can heal this planet. We can heal ourselves.
Love, Kristy
