I have a lot of new faces & names here, so I thoug I have a lot of new faces & names here, so I thought I’d take a moment to formally introduce myself. 🙏 And for those who’ve been here all along, I’ll also include a random fact about me, never before shared! 🤓

A few key things about me:

1.) I live in Northern New Mexico, and I love it like a soulmate.

2.) I spent 20 years in Veterinary Medicine before I burned out (to a crisp!) and made the abrupt decision to leave my career and start completely over. The stress and relief of this major life change was the catalyst for a terrifying & beautiful spiritual awakening the details of which still blow my mind thirteen years later.

3.) I wrote an award-winning memoir about that fantastical series of psychological & psychic events titled, “Stark Raving Zen: A Memoir of Coming Alive.”

4.) In the meanwhile I earned a master’s degree in psychology and started my own transformational coaching practice over a decade ago. (I already had a bachelor’s degree in organizational psychology.)

5.) Today I tend to the spirits, growth, dreams, and inspirations of Highly Sensitive People around the globe.

And now for a random fact!

1.) I grew up terrified of nuclear annihilation and once told my mother I would never have children because I couldn’t bear the thought of “losing them again”. (I stuck to that, and never had children.) Decades later I had a vision that I was killed by the nuclear bomb in Nagasaki. To this day anything about Godzilla (a metaphor for atomic warfare) fills me with a feeling I can’t explain. His roar makes me cry “Godzilla tears” because they are like no other tears I’ve ever had. I now live in Los Alamos, NM—the birthplace of that bomb that destroyed Nagasaki. Although I resisted moving here, I now feel I need to be here to reconcile that trauma, and free my soul. (And I no longer fear nuclear annihilation.)

One thing you’ll get to know about me—I can’t do small talk.

And I’m so grateful to know you. 🙏

Much Love,
Kristy

Commit to using an Emotions Word List and your who Commit to using an Emotions Word List and your whole life will change. ✨🙏✨

This is such an important tool for building emotional intelligence and soothing the nervous system. It’s a powerful practice for vagus nerve toning, and it’s also foundational for building intuition.

I work through this list, one on one, with every single one of my cherished clients. It is foundational to building resilience, nurturing confidence, and connecting body to mind.

1.) Use a search engine to find an image of an “emotions word list”. Pick one that appeals to you.

2.) Pick one word, one emotion, from the first column and recall how you’ve felt it recently.

3.) Think about the exact situation that triggered the feeling in you.

4.) Close your eyes, put your hand to your heart.

5.) Say out loud, “This week when (insert event here) happened, I felt (insert emotion here).”

6.) If the situation is still very raw within you, speak it in the present. “I feel (whatever the emotion is)”.

7.) Take a deep breath.

8.) Put your hand on wherever you feel it in your body, visualize sending light to yourself, through your hand. Invoke self-love and be compassionate with yourself.

9.) Visualize releasing it from your body.

10.) You will note that with a proper emotions word list, you will find equal numbers of challenging and empowering columns. Always remember to practice both equally. The columns are designed to exercise both hemispheres of your brain. Focusing on only one may bring imbalance.

Will you try this? Let me know 👇 & save or share with somebody you feel could benefit from this practice!

What you hear, after having your energy difference What you hear, after having your energy differences pointed out to you over the course of a lifetime is:
There is clearly something wrong with you.

But there isn’t.

And the 80% honestly aren’t trying to harm you. (Not most of the time, anyway.) They just don’t want to be without you while you separate yourself to regenerate.

This is why it is so important for you to learn to hold your ground. To say No. It’s imperative that you don’t allow another person to convince you that you aren’t normal ~ which is a word that means truly nothing.

Believe me, with the infinite varieties of human traits and personalities, there is no such thing as normal. We can’t allow a near-fictional concept to drive our choices.

There is nothing wrong with you.

Yes, a sensitive nervous system also means that inevitably you are more easily overwhelmed by intense levels of stimulation. It means your “intense” may have a different meaning from somebody else’s. That’s part of your beautiful innate package. But being an HSP is not a problem, or a syndrome, or a pathology. There is no flaw in your nervous system. It just works at a higher level than 80% of the population’s.

You can learn to increase your resilience–to make life easier–but they will never learn how to achieve your level of sensory processing sensitivity.

That sounds like a super power to me.

Have you heard any interesting (okay, aggravating) variations on “You’re too sensitive” recently? Let me know in the comments!

Save or share this with somebody who needs to hear it today!

Dear Highly Sensitives, Living life from “your Dear Highly Sensitives,

Living life from “your whole heart”. That’s why we do the work to heal our nervous system. That’s why we learn to take the armor off and feel it all—knowing that to block the possibility of life’s pain also blocks the possibility of life’s joy.

There is no magic experienced through a suit of impermeable defense mechanisms. You are so much more than that. You deserve to breathe, expand, to open your heart.

You deserve to free yourself.

Much Love,
